We are planning a VERY casual engagement party…think spit roast, outside, beers, music from an iPod and what not on an Autumn day. Our wedding isn’t going to be too small (roughly 90 people), however a lot of the attendees will be family. We want to still celebrate with our friends, so will be inviting them along to the engagement party. Do you think they’d be offended if they weren’t invited to the wedding?
I know it’s standard to only invite those who are coming to the wedding, but we are requesting no gifts etc for our engagement party (we don’t want it to seem like a gift/money grab), and putting on an afternoon purely for our friends and family to have a good time, and thank them for supporting P and I through our relationship…
